If say its protect the mattress the answer is yes 100% , it has plastics layer under the toper to protect the topper from any liquate , mattress made with well design but it is not soft and just feel like layer of the mattress cover on top of mattress . If looking to protect mattress from liquate it is best choice but if looking also softness it is not the right choice ,so far good mattress topper to protect the mattress .This thing works perfectly for what I needed it for-- a protective cover to keep my mattress clean. I tend to sweat a good bit when sleeping in the summer, so I wanted to make sure my mattress would stay clean and last as long as possible.Upon adding this protector, there is a slight change in sensation when touching the mattress or laying on it. There is a bit of a noise as well. Both of these issues were reduced when I washed the protector for the first time, but it's worth keeping in mind that there will still be a slight noise and sensation change.I really like this mattress cover it repels liquid pretty good, it covers the mattress really well, and it doesn't slide off. I would recommendI bought this protector for the bed of my new RV and was expecting something with more polyester but luckily for my ocd with the bedding, the surface fabric is so soft and pleasant that it almost looks like cotton; I did not expect it, it is a microfiber of Very good quality. The sheets that I put on top do not slip, the plastic underneath does not make any noise which I loved, it does not come loose, so it is perfect for my queen size bed. It seems like good quality for the price to me.This fits my dad’s hospital type bed perfectly. His hospital bed is not the wider kind you actually find in hospitals but the cheaper kind you get as a rental from a medical supply company. It looks long and thin and the mattress isn’t super tall. Most mattress pads are a bit wide on it which makes it uncomfortable to sleep on. This one is tight but not too tight. It doesn’t make any annoying sounds. It has minimal padding - I personally prefer an inch or two thick mattress pads, but for being waterproof that wouldn’t work for me. If you need a waterproof mattress pad, then thick means it will be a pain to wash. I have washed this 5 times so far and it is EASY to wash and dry. So far no issues. It is my favorite mattress pad for my dads bed. It does seem waterproof too. I always have a sheet, a draw sheet and a disposable absorbent pad on top of it, so there is not a huge amount of liquid that gets on it but from what I see taking it out of the washer, it holds a lot of water and that doesn’t get through to the other side. Also it is odorless which is perfect!This waterproof fitted mattress protector is well made. While other protectors are rubbery or plastic-y feeling, this one is soft and comfy. It would fit best when used on a mattress that is at least 8 inches deep. Easy to put on and smooth out, just what I needed.This mattress protector is like many others we've used, with a basic plastic lining on the undersurface and a quilted top. These tend to work better and last a bit longer in my opinion, than the membrane type. This seems fairly well made, but all protectors will crack or leak and fail after multiple washings. But this looks like standard quality and should be good for awhile.
