As an avid camper sleep quality is one of the most important things one can do. A night of poor sleep will ruin any camping trip. So, that said, when it comes to my purchases for sleep, I have found that it is best to stick with a name that you know and trust. I have 3 or 4 companies that have always provided products that meet the needs of a camper. Easthills is one of those companies. I recently purchased another sleeping mat that looked great but just did not deliver the comfort that I desired. So, I returned to a company that has not let me down and purchased this one.I am not a hiker so weight was not an issue, but comfort was. I wanted a pad that had some depth as well as some insulation. Generally I hammock camp and do not use a sleep pad. But I have been doing some truck bed tent camping and have struggled with comfort. This pad works for my needs. This last week end was one of those trips and it was a bit on the cool side in the mountains. The insulation did provide some of the needed insulation and contributed to keeping warm. Its insulation is rated at 2.5.It is wide enough for me to fit and has contoured ribs that actually tend to hold one in place. The pillow is something that I generally do not need but it is there and with the addition of a small pillow was actually quite comfortable. That pillow is almost 7" thick and the body on the pad is about 4 1/2" thick. If you apply all of your weight to one location you will feel the ground under you, but when you lay on it fully it suspends you nicely.Filling the mat is interesting. You just open the valve at the foot end and remove your shoes. Then stomp on the pump repeatedly until it is full. It does not look as if it is pumping up at first but you quickly see that it really is filling quite nicely. Packing up is quick too. Just pop open the valve under the pillow and fold the pad into 3 sections folded over one another. Then start at the foot and roll it tightly expelling the air out of the pillow valve. Then easily slip it into the stuff sack. The stuff sack is actually large enough to fit the pad in with ease.Comes with the pad in its own stuff sack, instructions on use and a patch repair kit. The stuff sack and mat each have button snaps so that more than one pad can be attached together. The snaps on the stuff sack allow you to snap it to the pad so as not to get lost. Nice touch. This pad does the job that I need t to do and I am quite happy with my purchase.Disclosure, I have not spent the night on this yet but did spend quite a bit of time indoors laying on it. Here is my review so far and I will update after I get to take it out camping.I bought one and my GF did as well. I inflated them and left them overnight to see how well they would hold air. Pro tip: always test new gear before you take it out and are relying on it. You do not want to discover a catastrophic failure when you are miles from civilization. Anyhow, hers did great but mine leaked a bit. Not enough that I was touching the ground when I laid on it, but it was about 20%. So I returned it for a new one and did the same test again. The new one held up perfectly! Very happy with that. The material is not noisy like I have experienced with some other lower price point pads. The material is not as soft as my REI Basecamp Pad, but this pad is substantially lighter, easy to hike in, and costs a fraction of the price. So expecting the same materials would be absurd. That was just for comparison.Over all, this pad is on par with my Klymit Static V, but at about half the price. They are roughly the same size with this one being slightly thicker and I genuinely like the side rails on this better. It is a bit thicker at the edges than in the middle, by design. It is pretty comfy. The big advantage with this pad is, of course, the built in foot pump. That is a huge perk that the Klymit does not have. IT does add a little bulk to the rolled up pad and a slight bit of weight, but to me is totally worth it given I do not have to blow into the bed pad. This keeps breath moisture out of the pad which can condense and cause thermal issues or make a home for bacteria. Gross. The foot pump skips those issues and I do not have to puff myself dizzy inflating it. However, it does give you the option of inflating or topping off with a 1 way hart valve in the pillow section. If I had 2 recommendations for the manufacturer, I would suggest not making the built in pillow (just my personal preference) and offer it in more colors.Final opinions thus far, this is a great 3-season pad at a great price.Haven’t taken it on a camping trip yet but it felt pretty comfortable when I tried it at home. I almost fell asleep on it immediately. It’s super lightweight and really easy to pack up again! This was super easy to blow up with my foot. It made my night much better chaperoning a camping trip. It was a bit tricky to fold up in the tent, but doable. Folded it better once I got home.As someone who has a substantial amount of camping gear my observations are that this pad packs slightly larger than an ultra light and simultaneously does not have the bulk, weight, or high price point of the memory foam cored pads. It is an exceptional and affordable mid-range bed pad.The pad inflates and packs away easily. No leaks/loss of air over 48 hours. The noise when shifting is much quieter than other mid-range pads we have owned and I love that my boyfriend and I can snap two bed pads together. One final notation is being a taller person I definitely appreciate the length of the bed pad.Used on a 4 day camping trip did very wellYou inflate this product with your hand or foot. I was surprised at its comfort and may use this vs our blow up mattress when we have guest! Although we mainly purchased this for camping or when we need an extra bed when traveling. Was surprised by the comfort and ver affordable.
