I purchased this tri-fold mattress 3 or 4 years ago and have been using it daily since. The mattress is amazing. It is easy to carry and pack when moving and very comfortable. I have slept on it everyday for 3 or 4 years now, no problem. I put it on a wooden IKEA bedframe I bought separately and it is stable, comfortable, and firm. The main reason I got this mattress was because I wanted to sleep on something more firm (not too soft or cushy because I cannot wake up in the morning). Also, I hate spring mattresses, it hurts my back. This foam mattress works really well and it does not trap much heat or sink in! And an added benefit, it is roughly 20 lbs (twin size) and very easy to carry or transport around. It is easy for me to place or remove my sheets after/when washing. I think you can also directly put the mattress on the ground and it would still be comfortable even without any sheets. I also have the carry cover and using it helps me move the mattress very easily by myself. No trouble. Another thing I should say is I have moved 3 times including being in a different state and this mattress has stayed with me! 10/10 recommend.Lots of reviews say it is good for only a temporary or short-term guest bed but I use it as my permanent mattress! There have been no issues, no smell, no other issue in my 3-4 years of use.The only downside is the height (4 inch) is not very high so when I put it in my frame the bed is very low compared to a normal mattress. The blankets and sheets droop to the ground. I think you can also put memory foam mattress topper on top or something if that is an issue, or add a layer underneath. For me, it did not matter. I just have it directly on the wooden slacks of my bedframe.Would NOT recommend for someone who does not like firm mattresses and is looking for something cushy. It is very firm and is in between the consistency of a yoga/exercise mat and an office chair cushion.I spent a lot of time going between this and a few other brands here. If you’re still deciding between this and another tri-fold mattress on Amazon, pick this one. I was so afraid it wouldn’t expand. Well, it did immediately and I was able to use it in about 10 minutes. It’s perfectly thick and firm. It folds away and stands up on its own.I was nervous about the full size since most reviews are for smaller mattresses. But mine turned out to be exactly what I expected. I also purchased the matching fitted sheet which is very soft :)This is a great bed if you need something to throw down. If I stay with my daughter in her room when she is up multiple times a night this works great. It does explain that you need to let it rest for a couple days and I used it right away…. I was a little upset about the comfort for a week I was sure it was a waste of money, but then I used it a week later and it was transformed. Give it time before you rate it!My original mattress was a very sad foam core shikibuton. This eventually, even after fluffing and turning it, began getting lumpy and hurting my back. I forked over for this mattress and after spending a few nights on it, felt it was too firm. I added a 1.5 inch memory foam topper onto it and the two combined made an excellent mattress! No springs, no sore spots, no support problems, even sleeping, not too hot and not uncomfortable. My back and hips (I am a side sleeper) have never once hurt or been sore after sleeping on this mattress. I have had no complaints from people that slept on it. My friend has tried in the past to convert her partner, who has chronic pain and hip problems to this combination because of the support. They did not feel convinced, especially considering that I sleep on the ground with no bed stand. When I stand on the mattress, my concentrated weight can cause the foot to go almost through to the ground. When I lay on it, then the weight is distributed and I do not feel the ground or any harder spots, either at the hips or shoulders. I am 160 lb female with hips as wide as my shoulders.Bottom line is that the combination I have made has caused this to be my best sleeping experience, I have slept on spring mattresses from queen down to twin, on box springs and off. I have slept on the floor, on a camp mattress with a sleeping bag (with and without a yoga mat underneath), on a giant bean bag, in a papasan, an air mattress, in a hammock and on a shikibuton knock off.Care wise, it originally was shipped vaccuum sealed into a tube shape, the whole mattress took about a day and a half to reach full size, and I left it out during a dry and sunny day to air out. There was some off gassing but after the two days of settling and putting a waterproof/bugproof cover onto it, there was very little smell or extra care needed. The foam springs back into shape immediately and does not lump up, even after nearly two years of constant use. Considering that I was sleeping on several layers of lumpy foam, and then a camping mat, and then a hammock, a super firm foam mattress took some getting used to. I gave it a few days before I decided it was too firm and got the foam topper for it. The 1.5 inches is perfectly adequate and takes the edge off from the firmness of the tri-fold's foam. The three foam sections are bound together in a tri-fold slip. Because of their design, there is a crease on the top side and then another on the bottom side, one at chest height and another at about knee height. Without the topper I put on it, those creases can become distracting if you shift or get up, as well, that means that you want to completely flip the bed over then you need to turn it foot-to-head as well for one crease to bend at the top and keep your elbow from sinking through the two parts of foam. A foam topper fixes all of that.Along with the tri-fold I got the 1.5 memory foam topper, the waterproof/bugproof slip and a full sheet set and comforter with duvet. A complete new bedding set and it came to $275. I also rent/move every few years so I needed a mattress that was capable of moving with me. This sucker and the memory foam topper folded up nice and pretty, and I then wrapped the whole thing in a tarp and strapped it to the roof of my hatchback, drove down I-5 and had no problems. The tri-fold is not that heavy, more awkward than anything, so investing in the cover/carry case might be worthwhile if you move more often than I do.Update: If you do not regularly flip the mattress, it is prone to sagging, so I have since gotten a 3" latex foam topper to offset this, essentially this combination (memory foam topper, latex topper and polyfoam base) is similar to most of the "bed in a box" mattresses that are sold. Hopefully it will be the same in comfort level.I will totally recommend this and my extra combination for a comfortable sleeping experience at a bargain.I have had this for a few months now. My husband snores so I needed something to sleep on away from his noise. It took some getting use to sleeping on the floor but this is super comfortable for the price. I love it and now sleep free of snoring. It would be great for camping, RV, or van if you had space for it. It folds up nice but it is pretty big. This mattress is great. It folds up to fit in a truck and carry around. It fits in a tent and is great for camping. It's thick enough to get you off the ground and thin enough that it does not take over the tent. It's a great size for both back and side sleepers and it's stupid comfrotable! Also, it's easy to take the fitted sheet off/on to wash.I do wildlife photography and when I'm a couple of hrs from home and still want to photograph the next day, I don't have to drive all the way home then back the next day, or have to spend $150 a night at a motel.I purchased this from amazon.ca thinking I was getting the same product they have listed on the manufacturer's web site (with the same product id) and turns out the sizing in the US is different than in Canada. The Canada mattress is 78" long while in the US it's 75" long. Weird to have the same SKU and two completely different products. I called Milliard and they said there's nothing they can do about it to help.I love the Milliard Tri Folding Mattresses so much that I now own it in two sizes. I bought the 75" x 25"x 4" cot size - which is perfect for sleep overs for anyone from toddlers to teens size. I also found the carrying/storage case for it on Amazon. My granddaughter calls it "comfy, cozy). I also own the 78" x 38"x 6 " (if you do your research you will find that it is an extra long twin (though Milliard doesnt call it that - they just call it twin size) and it is extra deep and extra long and I use that for any house guests that are heavier and taller. Unfortunately it is so comfortable that that guests decide to stay longer :) I also bought the carrying case for this size too. Next I am going to buy the 75" x 31" x 4 " (narrower than a regular twin size) for intermediate size guests. I have Fibromyalgi which means that if I sleep on standard metal coil mattresses its like literally sleeping on a bed of nails. This limits where I can travel to hotels that have TempurPedic or generic memory foam mattresses. Now I can take the extra long twin size with me in the trunk and sleep on it at any hotel or relatives place.Great product! Arrived on time and well packaged. As advertised took less than a full day to fully expand and after airing it out the mild 'packaging smell' went away.I am 5'3" 125lbs and the mattress is perfect for me. 4" thickness provides the right amount of firmness. Side sleeping is not an issue, very comfortable. Folds away nicely. Overall a great purchase. For me it works as a great and more affordable floor sleeping alternative compared to a more expensive japanese futon / tatami mat option.I took as much photos as I Can because this is the kind of information I want when looking at reviews. This is a good product. Not too soft not too firm. Though I wish I had ordered a thicker one. So I suggest that if you are going to order one, go for atleast the 6 inches.
